A message from Andres E. Canova, M.D

If you are diagnosed with cancer, chances are you want to know your treatment options available in your community and beyond. The information available on line and through the American Cancer Society, National Cancer Institute and Academic Institutions could be overwhelming. As hematologist- oncologist, I can help my patient sail through the load of information and tailor what is pertinent and scientifically sound for them. Fear and uncertainty can inundate cancer patient's life, therefore, I strive to develop a therapeutic relationship with every cancer patient and his/her family.

Today, cancer treatments are complex. My goal as a physician is to ensure that my patients who have been diagnosed with cancer receive the emotional support, the treatment recommendations and evaluations from all the specialists involved in their medical and surgical care in a timely fashion. These specialists, who become partners in my patients' care, include surgeons, medical oncologists, and radiation oncologists at Jupiter Medical Center.

I've found that in addition to receiving high quality medical care, cancer patients also need strong social support. Jupiter Medical Center offers not only state-of-the-art medical technology to provide excellent healthcare but also a warm environment rich with compassionate care and comfort. The dedicated oncology floor is an asset to the Hospital and the Outpatient Oncology Services is a rare gem in North Palm Beach County.

All together, we make a difference in making diagnosis and treatment plan for cancer patient. The oncologists at Jupiter Medical Center meet in weekly multidisciplinary cancer conferences. These meetings among local physicians focus on discussing cases and our approaches to patient care. Experts from noted cancer center around the country to make presentations about current cancer treatments and keep us updated. All of these things come together to bring you the best in cancer care in your community.
